The immersive Rosaleda: can a stadium have no limits?

What if the stadium could stay alive when there is no match?
For decades, the experience of a stadium has started with a ticket and ended with the final whistle. Thousands of fans travel for miles to live ninety unrepeatable minutes, and then the lights go out and the ground sits empty until the next fixture. Together with Málaga Club de Fútbol we asked a different question, and this project grew out of it.
The digital twin of La Rosaleda
The result is an immersive version of the stadium: a digital twin built to exist beyond its physical location. This is not about reproducing La Rosaleda in virtual reality, but about extending what it can do, turning it into a place where fans compete, train and enjoy football from anywhere through VSSoccer, the football of Virtual Sports®. The stadium keeps generating activity when no match is being played, and that opens forms of connection between a club and its community that simply did not exist before.

Tested with Málaga CF players
First-team players have already tried the experience, validating the concept in a professional environment. Real football, real players and technology applied with a specific purpose: bringing sport closer to people. More than a technology demo, the project proposes another way of understanding the bond between a club and its supporters.

Extend, don't replace
The potential of virtual reality is not in replacing the stadium experience but in extending it. A digital twin lets a ground remain a meeting point even with its gates closed, and gives clubs, sponsors and fans a permanent space to compete, learn and connect from anywhere in the world. For years clubs have worked on filling their stadiums; the next question is no longer only how to fill them, but how to keep them alive when they are empty.
La Rosaleda is still in Málaga. But now it can also exist in any city, any country and any home.
